History

The idea of ​​electronic menu was born in early 2010 in the minds of two students Tomas Zaluzansky and Petr Sulicek. They started to implement the idea the same year. In the end of 2010 team got new member – developer George Tuzil and the first beta version was created with name iMenu, which was deployed in a pilot operation in Mr. Sushi restaurant in Prague.

At the beginning of 2012 was founded company iMenu International s.r.o. and project was invested from private investor that provided the sources for further development. In 2012 it was installed five new restaurants in the Czech Republic and the first international installation in Moscow. The year was firstly introduced to the world a unique method of table installation.

During 2012, the company was selected to participate in accelerator program for start-up technology companies StartupYard. In StartupYard was founded new product name Spectu, which the founders of the program presented at conferences in Amsterdam and Silicon Valley. That same year Spectu acquired a strategic partner company ASW Systems, one of the biggest manufacturers of POS systems in the country and Spectu was integrated with POS from ASW called Septim.

In 2013 the founders agreed with acquisition of majority part of iMenu international company by ASW Systems. Company have been renamed to Spectu s.r.o., which got a strong background for its customers in the form of a partner that is engaged in software development for the hospitality industry since 1995.

In summer 2013 was installed the first restaurant in Canada and company introduced new product called Spectu mobile waiter, which was installed in several restaurants in Prague.
